What is misplaced IUCD?
Misplaced IUCD is termed as the condition when IUCD thread is not visualized through the cervical OS.
Malpositioned IUCD is a condition where, although the IUCD is present within the uterine cavity but its placement is eccentric and part or the whole of it may be embedded in the myometrium.
What happens if Copper T is misplaced?
Although rare, your IUD can move, which increases your risk of pregnancy and other complications.
How do I find my lost Iucd?
X-ray of abdomen or pelvic sonography is the first modality of investigation. USG usually suffices to locate the IUCD as most of the times the device is present in the uterine cavity. CT scan helps in locating the IUCD that has migrated outside the uterus. Cystoscopy helps diagnose intravesical IUCD.
